via Metal Injection Damn. I fuckin’ love Animals As Leaders. I saw their sole member playing with Born of Osiris last Summer. Great performance. -Stephen
HA! Fuckin’ Steve Brule.
New Whitechapel album
So Whitechapel announced their new album title and release date today. It is entitled “A New Era Of Corruption” and it will be out June 8th, 2010. I’ve never been a huge fan of these guys, but they are pretty sick live, I must say. I’ve seen ‘em a few times and they rule. Yeah…cool stuff. Whitechapel MySpace Do it. -Stephen
I finally saw that movie today after months and months of Arkhum’s drummer hounding me. Holy fuck. I shouldn’t have waited this long. It’s such a funny movie. There was no longer than three minutes where I wasn’t laughing. -Stephen
The Funeral Pyre Announce New Album Title!
I am WAY stoked for this album. They said: We have announced our new album title, “Vultures At Dawn” to be released soon. Keep checking back for updates Woohoo! It will be out on Creator-Destructor Records, if my memory serves me right. But it’ll be distributed by Prosthetic Records as well. I hope Arkhum will have the pleasure with playing with them again. That was an...
Please visit and hear a demo we did last January. Thanks! -Stephen
Brain Flavored Mints.
While they sound absolutely hilarious…they totally suck. They taste like wet dog food smells. HORRIBLE and The taste stays with you. Blech. On another note. More tone work was done for the new Arkhum album, and recording should be done here shortly. Once I get back in town. I think I will put up a new rough track on here before I send it off to Jason Walton. Fun times. -Stephen
Dexter is an absolutely stellar show. I’m just now onto the fourth season, but my younger sister is just beginning the first. It’s way different watching the show when you know what’s gonna happen. Ya know? Just in case anyone gives a damn…here are other places you can see my junk. Teehee Facebook Myspace Twitter Why do I have a Twitter? I’m not sure. But I must be...
Some say tomato, I say potato. I’m not too fond of tomatoes. I am fond of lasagna though. Holy God lasagna is amazing. So it’s Celtic Frost’s album “Monotheist.” -Stephen
So last night I was just about to head out the door, to go hang with my buddies in Pantheon and Jean Grey. BUT THEN… I found out the show in Seattle, was changed to 21+! Fuck me sideways. Such a buzzkill. Super lame. -Stephen
I love that place. Well I’m headed there in a few minutes…to see my buddies in Pantheon and Jean Grey play a show with Super Happy Story Time Land. Should be a good night! I’m shooting the show…so I’ll most likely post some pictures later. Yep. Thanks! -Stephen
I also have a theory...
…that today is going to rule. I’m heading to lunch at my sister’s school in a bit. YAY for extremely loud high school girls! (sarcastic tone is DEFINITELY intended) Then we’re going on a journey with the family, into the hills or something. And lastly I’m heading up to Seattle around 8 to catch Pantheon and Jean Grey at Galway Arms. It shall be a grandiose day. ...
I have a theory...
…that all Dream Theater songs would sound A LOT better as instrumentals. I can’t really stand James Labrie’s vocals. On a different note… …I am simply itchin’ to hear brand new Agalloch. “Ashes Against The Grain” was an amazing album. Here’s a short list of bands I would definitely suggest people listen to… Alcest Lifelover Ahab...
Me and my younger sister Chrysalis drove over to Tacoma tonight, because a couple of my friends were touring through there at The Viaduct. BUT GUESS WHAT?? The promoter did a way shitty job, and the local bands dropped off. The show was canceled. I’m still gonna go see ‘em play in Seattle tomorrow though. Gonna be a rad night. Arkhum is currently recording our first album. Which is only about 20% finished, but should be done with in the days of April. The mixing and mastering is being completed by Jason Walton (Agalloch, Self Spiller, ELS, Sculptured) at Audio Savant Studios. But we like being a proactive band. So here in Puyallup, Washington, while on break, I’ve begun demoing new Arkhum tracks for our split...
Today, in Puyallup, Washington, it was a nice day. I’m up here visiting the family for Spring Break. Should be a joyous 6 days. Then to get home and crack out the rest of the new Arkhum album, for a June release date. Oh, and another semester of classes. Happy happy joy joy! -Stephen
Another Beautiful Day In Eugene
It’s absolutely gorgeous. Here’s a poem I wrote some time back. Enjoy… On This Ocean On this ocean of waste, you hesitantly sail Seeking a life of normalcy, destined to fail Conversations are stale, thoughts seem to congeal A constant grimace during every bite and meal A raft of thoughts acts as your waterborne steed The sun and clouds now your immediate family Your...
I have an important blood test tomorrow, and can’t eat for 12 hours before it. Damnit. I am starving, NO WONDER. Score. -Stephen
Scar Symmetry is quite the fantastic group of musicians. Their new vocalists aren’t the greatest in the world, but they’re not horrible by any means. Though their previous vocal attack was one of astronomical proportions. Yep yep, listen to ‘em if you haven’t already.

So I was looking over Arkhum’s studio videos from this week. Damn, we can be boring as hell. Redbull and death metal. That’s pretty much the entirety of what someone will see, if they come watch us record. New album art has been finished for months now, just waiting for the album to be finished. It should see a June release. Woohoo. -Stephen
For some time now...
I have been thinking about reviewing metal albums. Whether people listen to me or not, I have no clue. But it seems like a good/fun time. I hope people dig it. I’ll start tomorrow. -Stephen
I will be watching the third season of Dexter, and adding to “The Conductor.” It should be an eventful night. Redbull AND writing? What a joyous evening/morning. Lessons 1-10: “Don’t get caught.” -Stephen
…has officially started for me It already rules I am caught with SO many things to do… Sleep… Eat… Shower… Play guitar… Watch Dexter… SO MANY OPTIONS. Oh yeah, Arkhum recording commences after the break. As if it matters. -Stephen

Testing out how well a text post goes down.
As I like to try out most social networking sites, I have now found my way over to tumblr. Seems cool enough so far. Tumblr also gets special points because they have a Blackberry app as well. Awesome. -Stephen
