I think Mayhem are overrated. I don’t really understand why tons of people, mainly on Tumblr, go ape shit for them.
I get that they came out at a time where that style of black metal didn’t really exist. But that doesn’t mean they’re spectacular.
Also I don’t get why people glorify Dead so much. He was a young guy that didn’t like his life so he killed himself. I don’t see why that’s such a cool aspect to people. “Oh, he chose to take his life at an early age? My hero!” plus, he wasn’t THAT good of a vocalist. He was bad at all, he just wasn’t that great.
Just some food for thought on this early Friday morning.
