Greetings.
My name is Stephen Parker and I am a freelance mixing engineer from Eugene, Oregon. A little history about me is as follows. I’ve been playing music for 10 years and I’ve been recording for 6. I run my own small home studio dubbed The Wilderness. I have a masters certificate from the Berklee College of Music in Music Production and Technology and I’ve worked with many artists over the years.
Client List:
Arkhum
Cult of Unholy Shadows
Christopher Horst
Beta Project
Earthenwomb
Boneblossom
Dirtclodfight
Gromkvlt The Will of a Million
Aeolus
Jeff Lane (scored music for his audio book “Crush Depth”)
That’s just a small list of the artists I’ve worked with recently and the list keeps growing. My main area of expertise is mixing and mastering black/death metal bands. But I’m always open to attempting new projects!
Rates:
Recording - $50-75/day (depending on the intensity of the project.)
Mixing - $40/song
Mastering - $30/song
Composing - $$ Depends on project
Audio Editing - $100/project
Audio Clean Up (Izotope RX/Denoiser/Declipper) - $50/track

Thank you and I hope to speak to you soon!

Tactical Gorefare - Nemesis T-Type (demo)
Okay. Here’s my schpeel again! (I’m not sure if I spelled that correctly…whatever)
My name is Stephen and when I’m not working my normal 9-5 job or tumbling stupid junk, I’m a Berklee Certified producer/engineer. I specialize in death/black metal and acoustic recordings. Below are a list of a few artists I’ve worked with…
Arkhum
Terra Deep
Cult of Unholy Shadows
Vhmnt
Earthenwomb
Gromkult
The Screaming Wind
Boneblossom
and more
My specialty in engineering would either be guitars and mastering. I love recording people playing guitar. Trying to make it sound amazing the first time. I firmly believe that too many people reamp and sound replace things nowadays. I’m not 100% against it, I just think sometimes people take the easy way out and reamp their guitars.
My prices are as follows:
Mixing: $30 a song (unless I’m to mix a 50 piece orchestra…)
Mastering: $20 a song
Mixing/Mastering: $40 a song
If you want me to engineer your recording and are in the Eugene area in Oregon, message me and we’ll get something together. Email me at the.wilderness.studio@gmail.com for more inquiries!
Thanks!

I’ve recently located to Oregon from Washington and the job pickin’ is sparse, to say the least. Therefore I’m pledging to myself to try and get my name out there in the producing/engineering world. I’m a Berklee College of Music certified mixing/mastering engineer and have about 4.5 years under my belt.
If you would like anything mixed/mastered and have a huge budget I can fly to wherever you are and do it in person. If you don’t have that luxury then getting the mixing stems and working from my studio is totally doable. My rates are extremely low and EXTREMELY flexible. If I dig your project and you can’t afford much, I’ll most likely do it for the price of a box of cereal. Or cereal and a gallon of milk.
My email is arkhumlead02@gmail.com
Update 11/10/11:
I currently have a good 15 recordings under my belt. Including black metal/drone project Vhmnt, black metal legends Gromkult, a depressive project called Eternal Eclips, Terra Deep (2 releases), The Will Of A Million, Eldritch Flamethrower, Earthenwomb, Boneblossom and of course Arkhum.
My current price for mastering is $30 a song and mixing is a bit different. But get in touch and we’ll talk!
Thank you!
-Stephen
Do you prefer to compress the vocal tracks when recording, or wait until the mixing stage?
I’m really fuckin’ bored.
But here are some drums and feedback from a new TWOAM song.
Oh and my eyes.
—Impartial Winds (Mix3)
The Will Of A Million - Impartial Winds
Here’s another really rough, and slightly bad mix of a demo that I did for the new TWOAM album. The album is entitled “A Lull.”
And it will be out this Summer.
Again…if you did black metal, please check it out.
I just did a new mix of an old TWOAM tune and yeah, it came out pretty gnarly.
I can’t wait until after spring break, when I start the final tracks.
Guests galore!
it’s always amazing working with musicians that are fans and friends of yours.
It’ll be fantastic.
Anyone interested in hearing it? It’s probably my most “black metal” tune on the new album. it’s very Krallice inspired.
Arkhum isn’t even done writing our second album and I’m already itching to get into the studio.
FUCK.
10 original tunes and 3 covers? Fuck yes.
I think the label want one cover on the album and one on the iTunes version. Then maybe we’ll just release the third one for free. haha. Who fuckin’ knows.
We’re also looking at engineers to mix the album. We’ve enlisted Bannon Hunt (Jean Grey) to engineer the drums, then I’ll engineer the rest of the instruments. We also want Colin Davis (Defeated Sanity, Devourment) at Imperial Mastering to master it. To mix? Not sure. Maybe Mick Kenny of Anaal Nathrakh or Jason Walton of Agalloch, again.
SO MANY DECISIONS TO BE MADE!
